Adjusting for the inflation of the previous 70 years, the most winning movie from all times is “Gone with the Wind” from’39, starring Vivien Leigh as Scarlett O’Hara and Clark Gable as Rhett Butler. Adjusted for inflation this movie has grossed an startling $1.45 billion.

Prince of Darkness – The anti-Christ entombs the evil child of Satan in a cannister of a neglected L.A. temple. It’s up to pastor Pleasence and the grad students of Prof Wong to tidy up the mess. They must stop the religious sect attempting to free this child named the “Brotherhood of Rest.” Cast includes Donald Pleasence, Lisa Blount, Jameson Parker, Victor Wong, Dennis Dun, Susan Blanchard, Anne Howard and Alice Cooper Panavision. The Search – Heartrending drama of American cadet Clift regarding for concentration camp survivor Jandl in postwar Berlin, when the lad’s mother glumly looks all over the camps for him. Beautifully performed and directed. Cast includes Montgomery Clift, Ivan Jandl, Aline MacMahon, Jarmila Novotna, and Wendell Corey. (105 minutes,’48)

La Nuit de Varennes – Clever historical legend has such recognized entities as Casanova and Thomas Paine cross roads at the time of the French Rebellion. Cast includes Marcello Mastroianni, Jean-Louis Barrault, Hanna Schygulla, Harvey Keitel, and Jean-Claude Brialy. (133 minutes,’82)

The Facts of Life – Advanced comedy with Bob and Lucy leaving their spouses for an interlude together. The 2 megastars make a team worth watching. Cast includes Bob Hope, Lucille Ball, Ruth Hussey, and Don DeFore. (103 minutes,’60)

The Gorilla – Disheartening comedy thriller with the Ritz Brothers as fumbling investigators looting around old rest home looking for a murderer. Cast includes The Ritz Brothers, Anita Louise, Patsy Kelly, Lionel Atwill, Bela Lugosi, and Joseph Calleia. (66 minutes,’39)
