Of course, log furniture got it beginnings in the early pioneer days when there was likely a shortage of fine craftsmen that made the furniture like what was often brought over from Europe. Some American settlers were lucky enough or rich enough to be able to bring over furniture and other belongings they had over there, but many settlers arrived with nothing or little more than the clothing on their backs.
