Parasites are nasty little organisms that benefit from what they can take from their hosts. Our enemy the bed bug is one of these type parasites. They live on blood from mainly humans and then warm blooded animals if necessary. The name comes from their favorite place to sleep, which is in your warm bed. In the places where warm blooded animals sleep, you will find bed bugs. These tiny parasitic insect have one food: the blood of birds and mammals. They are more transferred in places where different animals interact. For humans, that means hospitals, apartment buildings, the workplace and schools. Bed bugs are less likely in rural areas then in the city. This was not always the case.
Some of the most common indoor bugs we see anywhere in the world are flies, spiders, fleas and beetles. No-one likes to see a bug indoors, so most people will go to just about any lengths to get rid of these common indoor bugs. The less common indoor bugs may be woodlice, earwigs, scorpions and millipedes or centipedes, although they are no less unwelcome.
