Anne was a thirty nine year old Norwegian mother of two. In 1999 she suffered a virus, from which she didn’t fully recover. Anne developed post viral syndrome (PVFS), which gradually evolved into M.E. (Myalgic Encephalomyelitis), also known as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS). Her main symptoms were relentless fatigue, Insomnia, Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) along with sensitivity to light and sound.

The years drifted by in a haze due to the brain fog she was suffering. Anne was tested for most other health conditions by the doctor, all results came back negative. She tried CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), graded exercise and pacing. Nothing improved her condition or gave her any relief. Anne looked into alternative approaches and tried acupuncture, homeopathy, osteopathy, herbalism amongst others. She got some short term improvement but nothing lasted.

Anne was was diagnosed with fibromyalgia as she was now suffering a lot of physical pain. She was offered painkillers and anti-depressants. After nine years of the illness, Anne heard of an ME sufferer from Norway who had traveled to the U.K. to take part in a training programme called the Phil Parker Lightning Process. She read more stories on the Internet of ME/CFS sufferers who were now completely healthy. After taking part in this training they had rapidly turned their health around. This was why it was named — The Lightning Process.

Anne thought that these people could not have been suffering in the same way she was. Most of her bodily systems were affected and the illness was so physical – how could this be cured by a training programme? In the Norwegian papers, more recovery stories appeared throughout the year. Anne decided that she had to try The Lightning Process. She discovered that certain U.K. practitioners were running Lightning Process courses in Norway. Anne contacted me six weeks before the ME/CFS recovery course in Oslo.

I informed Anne that in the recovery course, I included a number of other valuable techniques along with the Lightning Process. Anne started straight away with some of the self-help resources from my website. These are all easy ways in which to start to re-train the nervous system. Anne also downloaded the free relaxation mp3 produced for ME/CFS sufferers.

The self-help included self-applied acu-pressure or tapping techniques along with focused breathing practices. By using these simple techniques, Anne was able to reduce the intensity of her symptoms and increase her energy levels. The guided relaxation assisted her to deeply relax which helped with her sleep. Although these alone weren’t likely to be an ME/CFS cure, Anne felt hopeful as she learnt to improve her condition, when for so long she had felt helpless.

Anne learnt The Lightning Process and EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) when she took part in the Optimum Energy Training Course. The training was on three consecutive days, with four hours of training each day. She felt a significant change on day one, as the brain fog that she was experiencing had finally gone. There was work to be done and it wasn’t all easy for her, but Anne persisted, She practiced with all that she had learned. She had made huge changes by the end of the third day and she knew that she had the tools and know-how to get 100% better.

I did some coaching over the telephone with Anne after the course. Anne was doing better as each day passed, her symptoms were fading and energy was increasing. For the next month She continued to work on her stamina and fitness until she was completely healthy. This kind of transformation is what we regularly see with people using this approach, even though Anne’s story might sound too good to be true. This training isn’t right for everbody. People need to be ready and prepared to commit to short-term work that is necessary. For those people who are, the results can be quite remarkable, as Anne discovered.
