Finding Water in the City During a Catastrophe 1

People living in urban environments are essentially at the mercy of their utility companies. You must rely on the power company, the gas company and you have to trust that your local water treatment plant is properly treating your drinking water making it safe for you and your family. You need a certain amount of hydration every day, up to two quarts, on average, to survive. You probably do not give it much thought as you go about your daily routine, but what happens when the power company fails or the water treatment plant has a malfunction, can you get the proper amount of hydration when your faucets run dry?

Enjoying UK Caravan Holidays

The popularity of UK caravan holidays is evident by the number of caravans on British roads. The economic downturn of recent years has seen people opt for lower cost holidays. Touring holidays of Britain allow people a deal of flexibility to change plans at the last minute and visit several places.

One Day In The Region Around The Somme

Much like the region around Ypres, there are lots of cemeteries, normally along small, muddy roads. My first planned destination was the Hawthorn Crater. This is one of the mines that was detonated below the German lines at the outset of the Battle of the Somme in 1916. The explosion was captured on film and is frequently shown in documentaries about the Battle of the Somme. After driving around the area for a while, I found the Newfoundland Park Memorial & Visitors Centre and pulled over to have a look.
